One of the challenges with cybersecurity is that the discussion is often about worst-case scenarios — a cyber-Pearl Harbor, for example.

That often makes it difficult to put cybersecurity in context and assess the actual risks.

Chris Bronk is a research fellow at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy and an adjunct instructor of computer science at Rice.

He previously served as a Foreign Service officer and was assigned to the State Department’s Office of e-Diplomacy.
