GovLoop has found a new home at GovDelivery.

The announcement was made on Monday’s Daily Debrief.

GovLoop.com is described by creator Steve Ressler as the Facebook for government. There are currently over 20,000 federal, state and local government workers, contractors and thought leaders who use the site.

“I think of it basically as a knowledge network that helps you get your job done,” Ressler said.

GovDelivery provides a communications platform for over half of federal agencies, as well as many state and local government bodies.

Scott Burns is co-founder, president and CEO of GovDelivery, and said this he saw GovLoop and GovDelivery as the perfect couple, so to speak.

“We believe that our service and our way of working with government agencies can help support {the government community} and, of course, under Steve’s leadership we hope it continues to do a lot more of the same thing, which is connecting people.”
