Agencies struggle to recruit cyber experts
Federal News Radio\'s Jason Miller joined the DorobekINSIDER to discuss agencies\' struggles with recruiting cyber experts.
The Department of Homeland Security announced last year it wants to hire 1,000 cybersecurity workers in three years across the department. Phil Reitinger,the under secretary of the National Programs and Protections Directorate in the Homeland Security Department, jokingly said he is stealing to build his office’s cybersecurity workforce.
The challenge of recruiting hiring cyber experts is not unique to DHS. Federal News Radio’s joined the DorobekINSIDER to discuss why it’s so tough to find qualified professionals and what agencies are doing.
