Kundra: 25 percent of IT budget to fund cloud computing

GovInfoSecurity reports that Federal CIO Vivek Kundra is committing funds to cloud computing efforts in government.

The White House’s cloud first policy is getting a financial boost. Federal Chief Information Officer Vivek Kundra says one-quarter of the IT budget will go towards cloud computing solutions.

Kundra says agencies will need to reevaluate their technology sourcing strategy budgets to accommodate cloud computing solutions.

GovInfoSecurity reports the Cloud First policy could reduce the government’s data center infrastructure by 30 percent.
