A host of factors are driving agencies to consolidate including business continuity and disaster recovery, environmental sustainability goals, cyber security and cost savings. The government’s information technology budget for 2015 is looking to data center consolidation as a cornerstone to reduce I.T. investment while bolstering citizen services.

Fred Whiteside currently serves as Program manager for the Department of Labor Data Center Consolidation (DCCI) Program. He has served in previous capacities supporting the Federal Cloud Computing Program as Chair, NIST Cloud Computing Security Working Group where he led group contributions to the NIST Special Publication 500-293: US Government Cloud Computing Technology Roadmap (Release 1.0). Fred also served as Co-Chair, ISMC Network and Infrastructure Security Sub-committee and, with Department of Commerce Office of the Chief information Officer as Senior Enterprise Architect.
