The Transportation Security Administration and the American Federation of Government Employees have come to an agreement on their first-ever labor contract. It will be submitted for ratification in the coming weeks. Gage says the contract will provide for “increased uniformity on fair treatment,” flexibility in scheduling and a new dispute resolution process.

The Food and Drug Administration can identify 100,000 potentially deadly bugs. To help prevent outbreaks of food contamination, FDA wants to build a database of the DNA profiles of known bacteria.
