The National Museum of American History has a collection of dresses from the First Ladies of the United States. Many of those dresses are Inaugural Ball gowns. Lisa Kathleen Graddy is the curator of the First Ladies’ collection – and tells us that it takes some time for the dress to make its way from Inauguration night to the museum.
