We told earlier this month that the number of contract protests to the Government Accountability Office in 2008 increased 17 percent over 2007.

But what is unknown is how often vendors are filing a protest just to ‘gum up’ the works.

Next year this time, we may have a better idea because Congress has asked the GAO to look into how many protests could be considered frivolous.
