Reporters’ Roundup: drug trials, avoiding lawsuits

• The National Cancer Institute is cutting the time it takes to start clinical drug trials.

  And it’s doing it through the use of standards for secure online transactions.

  NCI and the SAFE BioPharma Association are putting the concepts outlined in the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace into practice.

  Federal News Radio’s Jason Miller brings us the details.

• Every federal employee faces some risk of being sued by the public.

  The risk, in part, comes from a 40-year-old Supreme Court decision that says if someone thinks a federal employee violated their constitutional rights, the person could sue that employee.
