DHS: Anonymous used ‘rudimentary’ tools to hack contractor

DHS says the hackers used \"rudimentary exploits commonly associated with less skilled hackers known as Script Kiddies.\"

Government defense contractor Mantech is the latest victim of the hacking group Anonymous. The group stole over a thousand internal files from Mantech and posted them online, Fierce Government IT reports.

DHS says the hackers used “rudimentary exploits commonly associated with less skilled hackers known as Script Kiddies,” according to the article.

Anonymous’s main effect so far has been harassment and embarrassment, but Anonymous excels at garnering media attention and using social media forums.
