Ooooh, it is a blustery day here in FederalNewsRadio land, and it doesn’t look like it’ll be getting any better anytime soon.

Your best bet is to curl up with a nice hot cup of joe (or cocoa) and your laptop while you get your latest federal news and information right here with us.

Besides this wicked weather, the other big story today is the tragedy at Virginia Tech. Our thoughts and hearts and minds are with them today. We brought you President Bush’s statement live during the Daily Debrief. He says that any federal aid needed will be provided. If you need to know more, CNN will continue to bring you the latest on FederalNewsRadio AM 1050.

It’s not easy being green, but we’re sure trying, aren’t we? Today’s Daily Debrief featured more ways you can get to green in the government. This has less to do with the President’s Management Agenda and more to do with the environment. We talked with Tom O’Connell with the Environmental Protection Agency about how you can ensure your meetings are green.

Speaking of green, the National Park Service is turning 100 years old in 2016. The agency is already getting ready for its Centennial Celebration. FederalNewsRadio Associate Producer Dorothy Ramienski spoke with Glenn Eugster, Assistant Regional Director for Partnerships at the National Park Service about what you can do to help the park service get ready.

You might have noticed that we are building your Daily Debrief blog page slowly but surely. Now you can find archived blogs on the left-hand side of the screen. Our Senior Internet Editor Suzanne Kubota is teaching me how to post audio, so I hope to have the show sound up for you soon!

Tuesday promises to bring us more windy, chilly weather, but that won’t stop us from bringing you the latest federal news and information on everything from the latest news at the U.S. Patent Office to your Thrift Savings Plan.

Let’s all keep Virginia Tech in our thoughts and prayers tonight.

We’ll be here for you tomorrow.
