Happy Friday everybody!

Our tummies are all full from the lunch provided by our Program Director Lisa Wolfe in celebration of the two Associated Press Awards that we netted for 2006.

Plus, it is Friday. What’s not to love? Okay, besides the weather. Where’s the warmth?

Mmmmm, warmth makes me think of sunshine, and that makes me think of green…which of course naturally leads me to…computers? Well, today – yes. Because our first guest on Friday’s Daily Debrief was Scot Case, Outreach Director for the Green Electronics Council. He told us all about “green” computing technology, and how feds can learn about meeting new environmental standards.

We learned a lot more about who it is you are, actually, when Donald Marron joined us from the Congressional Budget Office. Their latest report took an in-depth look at the federal workforce and found that you are smarter, more educated and better paid than in years past. You’re also going for more professional and administrative jobs. Way to go!

Federal pay and leave programs are always on everyone’s mind in the federal workforce. Jerry Mikowicz with the Office of Personnel Management talked to us about how you can donate unused leave to fellow workers. You just have to make sure you follow your agency’s rules when you do it.

Today we started a new feature which we hope you will like and use to your advantage. Reed Hellman is Editor of Recreation News, and he brought us some terrific tips for fun things you can do on your days off. This weekend he recommends taking advantage of federal deals in the Poconos. (Here’s your secret tip. The special code you need for your discount is GA-19242. Shhhh.)

Thank you so much for spending your time with us. Producer Patrick and I are looking forward to our next week on the air with you. We’ll have some Monday afternoon tips to help you become a Fit Fed, we’ll hear from experts on your retirement benefits, and we’ll get management advice from Kathryn Troutman of The Resume Place.

And thank you also for providing feedback about what you think of your Daily Debrief here at FederalNewsRadio. We read each and every email and take them to heart.

This looks like it could be the beginning of a beautiful relationship!

See you Monday!
