Opportunity Name: CIOSP 3 (aka CIOSPNEW and Follow-on Contracts to CIOSP 2 and Imageworld 2)

Agency: National Institutes of Health NIH Information Technology Acquisition & Assessment Center (NITAAC) Contract Length: To Be Determined (TBD). Existing contracts were 10 year contracts.

Estimated Value: TBD. The existing contracts had a ceiling value of $19.5 billion however, actual spending has been under $4 billion.

Incumbents: CIOSP2i has 48 separate contracts (27 were awarded to large businesses and 21 were awarded to small businesses). Companies that have been awarded the most business on the contract include BearingPoint, Booz Allen Hamilton, CSC, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, SAIC and SRA.

Services Provided: The program is anticipated to require a broad range of IT services including: CIO support, outsourcing, IT operations and maintenance, critical infrastructure protection and information assurance, healthcare and biomedical research, enterprise resource planning, integration services, digital government, software development and imaging services.

Timeline: The government released an RFI back in April 2008. They are currently awaiting approval on their business case in order to move forward. Once approval is received they should be able to get an RFP out relatively quickly. INPUT anticipates an RFP in Q2 FY 2009. The existing contracts expire in December 2010.
