John Bryson is President Obama’s choice to lead the Commerce Department. Among other positions, he was Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President of Edison International, one of the biggest electric companies in the country. If confirmed by the Senate, Mr. Bryson will replace Gary Locke.
Going green is now a must for your agency. The Federal Acquisition Regulations Council’s new rule will make almost every acquisition green and more sustainable. Agencies must make 95 percent of all new contracts use products that are designated as energy-efficient, water-efficient, bio-based, environmentally preferable and non-ozone depleting.
NASA is cutting a $600 million check. The money covers the retirement costs of civilian employees working on the space shuttle program. Pensions and Investments website says NASA will reimburse the United Space Alliance, which manages NASA’s retirement plan.
