  • It’s been nearly two years since former Defense Contract Audit Agency Director April Stephenson sent proposals to the Pentagon to increase oversight of federal contractors. But those proposals have reportedly been ignored by the Pentagon. The Project On Government Oversight’s Director of Investigations, Nick Schwellenbach, told Federal News Radio exactly what those recommendations included.
  • As the spatial data branch chief in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Office of Response and Restoration, Amy Merten expanded on a new online data system that was instrumental in the cleanup efforts of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill last spring and summer.   • A little less than a year after the Thrift Savings Plan instituted automatic enrollment for new federal employees, the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board said most new hires are opting for the automatic plan or even choosing higher contributions. Tom Trabucco, the director of external affairs at the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board that oversees your TSP, told Federal News Radio the numbers so far look “pretty good.”
