  • The first budget bill of fiscal-year 2012 passed the Senate today. The Military Construction and Veterans Affairs appropriations bill passed by a 97 to 2 vote. The House version is close enough to the Senate version that an agreement should come soon.
  • GSA is changing what you can get on its governmentwide IT schedules. The agency will remove all products that don’t comply with Energy Star or the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool. The move is part of the administration’s new National Strategy for Electronics Stewardship.
  • The Office of Management and Budget is closing 123 data centers in the D.C area. OMB announced by the end of 2012, 373 data centers will be shuttered.
