  • The House has passed a 1.6 percent pay raise for military personnel. The raise is part of the $648 billion defense spending bill for fiscal 2012. The House bill must still be combined with the Senate version, which is still in the works.
  • The Interior Department’s roadmap to transform its technology infrastructure is finished. Interior says this four-year project will save 500 million dollars between 2016 and 2020, and will cost NO extra money to implement. The IT transformation is only focused on back office, enterprise wide systems.
  • A few Senators want the U.S. to go for gold in cybersecurity. Senators Joe Lieberman, Susan Collins, and Tom Carper — in an Washington Post op-ed — are warning of a possible digital Pearl Harbor. They’re calling for a gold standard when it comes to cyber defense.
