The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is launching a program to fund hacker research, Government Computer News reports.

DARPA program manager Pieter Zatko — a former hacker himself — says the project will try to bridge the gap between hacker groups and the government.

Developers who come up with winning recipes will get money to work on their ideas and keep intellectual property rights. But the government gets rights to USE the ideas.
