Senator: DoD not making case for F-35

Texas Senator John Cornyn says the agency should be working harder to promote the aircraft.

The Defense Department isn’t making the case for the F-35 well enough, DoD Buzz reports.

Texas Senator John Cornyn says the agency should be working harder to promote the aircraft.

He says he’ll push the issue in the confirmation process for Undersecretary of Defense Ashton Carter’s nomination to become Deputy Secretary of Defense.

Cornyn says the DoD is not speaking up for the F-35, and if the program goes away they have no other program to fill its void.

The DoD’s Fiscal 2012 budget request cuts funding from the F-35 by $12 billion.
