Reporters’ Roundup: USPS cuts, managing in the cloud

• Agencies are starting to realize that managing systems in the cloud requires a much different type of workforce than the current approach. And those technical and program management skills are in high demand across the government and industry. Federal News Radio’s Jason Miller tells us how some agencies are dealing with this workforce shortfall.
• The Postal Service says it can save billions by trimming its processing centers in half. But closing those centers would lead to slower mail delivery and 35,000 fewer jobs. Federal News Radio’s Emily Kopp has the story.
• The President’s nominee to be the number two official at the Pentagon says DoD will need to work closely with Congress over the coming months on how to cut Defense spending without hurting military capabilities.
