Mentor/Protégé Night

The Northern Virginia Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) is hosting the annual Spring Mentor/Protégé Night at Maggiano’s in Tyson’s Corner on Thursday June 14th from 5:30 – 9:30 pm.

Mentor Protégé Night brings together emerging leaders and seasoned professionals to connect, share ideas, learn from past experiences, and develop relationships that will help generate the next level of leaders in the federal IT industry. Attendees will enjoy a personal, family-style dinner and cocktails, and have the opportunity to engage directly with senior leaders from both government, military, and industry. Protégés will learn more about the challenges and obstacles our mentors overcame to reaching their positions today and how they achieved it.

AFCEA International is a worldwide nonprofit professional association. Its purpose is to support global security by providing an ethical environment that encourages a close cooperative relationship among the military, civilian government agencies, and private industry. AFCEA NOVA is the largest Chapter in the AFCEA International family, with approximately 7,000 members, and an equal number of associates and friends in industry, government, & academia.

Proceeds from these and other activities support the AFCEA NOVA Education Fund. AFCEA NOVA is actively involved with local high schools, colleges and universities, and with support from our members and friends in FY2010 we gave out more than $290,000 in scholarships & educational grants.
