**Master Sgt. Jeremy Lock** The Military Photographer of the Year award is part of a larger Visual Information Awards Program designed to recognize, reward, and promote excellence among military photographers, videographers, journalists and graphic artists.

The 2012 winners are all active duty and Reserve members, whose photos were created while serving across the globe.

The winning entries were selected by a panel of military and civilian personnel. The photos adhere to the same standards as photojournalism, meaning no posed or electronically-manipulated images, and were chosen from thousands of entries.
