  • Agencies have awarded more than $12 billion dollars in energy savings performance contracts (ESPCs) since 1995. Many contractors on ESPCs have reported overall savings. But a new report from the Government Accountability Office says those numbers may be a tad overstated. Frank Rusco is the director of Natural Resources and Environment Issues at the GAO. He joined Tom Temin on the Federal Drive to discuss what auditors found.

  • The Office of Personnel Management is considering sending an additional request to Congress asking for additional funding in 2016 to help pay for cybersecurity fixes, but members of Congress and the agency's inspector general say that money may not be what is needed in this situation. Better workload analysis is one of six management challenges the EPA\'s Office of Inspector General identifies for 2015. All six challenges are repeats from last year.   • Less than half of the paperwork the Small Business Administration finishes when an employee or contractor leaves the agency is complete and filled out correctly. SBA\'s inspector general said the agency isn\'t following its own separation procedures when an employee leaves. Seventy-three network accounts are still active for employees who are already gone. SBA is supposed to deactivate those accounts within 24 hours after an employee leaves.
