  • Federal employees who get injured on the job may not be able to tap into workers compensation benefits anymore when they reach retirement age. The Labor Department has a proposal to reform the 99-year-old Federal Employees Compensation Act. The department says it encourages disabled employees to rely on other savings instead. It also cuts extra compensation employees with dependents now get. But some employees\' unions say FECA reform doesn\'t consider the disadvantages workers with disabilities already have.   • A bill in the House aims to reform the way the General Services Administration (GSA) handles real estate. The Public Buildings Reform and Savings Act would realize billions in savings by enabling GSA to better facilitate consolidations, reduce space and negotiate the best possible office space lease deals.
