The Office of Personnel Management's retirement claims backlog is down by about 10,000 claims in the past 10 months. The average processing time is at 37 days. OPM says an updated case management system will help it do better, but it's not sure yet what exactly that system will look like. The U.S. Transportation Command fired its incumbent vehicle shipping contractor, America Auto Logistics. Instead, it gave the award to International Auto Logistics for $38 million less. USTRANSCOM said AAL's past performance isn't worth the higher price tag. But big problems with IAL's services have the agency thinking it may have gotten what it paid for.
