We’ve heard a lot about the budget trimming ideas from the Deficit Reduction Commission. In addition to cuts in federal pay and furloughs for government workers the commission also wants to roll back defense spending. The proposed DoD cuts are supposed to save Americans more than one trillion dollars in the next 10 years. Carl Conetta is the Co-Director of the Project on Defense Alternatives. He says we’re on the right track with defense cuts, but that there are even more savings to be had from the defense budget. Click above to listen to the entire conversation.
