Todd Scharf is the Chief Information Security Officer for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and is responsible for all aspects of information security and privacy at the SEC as well as advising The Commission on Critical Infrastructure protection issues. Prior to becoming the CISO of The SEC, Mr. Scharf served as Director of Information Security Operations and Associate Vice President of Information Security at NASD/FINRA from August 1998 to September 2009. He worked for General Electric Information Services for three years as a data security analyst prior to joining FINRA and served as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy for ten years prior to that.

Mr. Scharf has a degree in Administration of Justice from The Pennsylvania State University.
