Director, Office of Cyber Security and Chief Information Security Officer U.S. Department of Commerce Rod Turk’s current position as the U.S. Commerce Department’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Office of Cyber Security Director puts him at the forefront of the government’s cybersecurity efforts. Turk manages and oversees the Department’s compliance with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and implementation of IT security best practices. Turk joined Senior Executive Service with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in September 2004. He has held several Senior Executive positions within the Federal government, including serving as the CISO at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Turk holds an MBA from Temple University and a Bachelors Degree from the University of Wisconsin. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
