DENVER (AP) — A stadium known for offense didn’t disappoint when the Washington Nationals faced the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. The Nationals won 15-12, and Trea Turner hit for the cycle — the third in team history. Turner had seven RBIs while Daniel Murphy added a career-best five.
BALTIMORE (AP) — Substitute starter Austin Pruitt came up big for the Tampa Bay Rays at Camden Yards. He filled in for Erasmo Ramirez, who was scratched, and allowed one hit in three innings in his first major league start. The Rays beat Wade Miley and Baltimore 2-0.
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A return home meant a return to the win column for the San Antonio Spurs. They bounced back from two discouraging road losses to beat the Memphis Grizzlies 116-103 in game 5 of their NBA first-round playoff series. The Spurs are now one win away from moving on to the next round.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — The most outstanding player of the Final Four is returning to North Carolina for his senior season. Joel Berry II says he’s withdrawing from the NBA draft. Berry says, “There’s no reason to rush leaving school.”
