G-Hacks.net reports the malware takes the form of a game, but it actually spies on the smartphone owner. It gathers contacts, text messages and the phones’ location…then sends all the information to a specific email address. The BBC says the malware was built using standard software toolkits, which makes it much harder to spot.
With all of the noise about cloud computing, data center consolidation and transparent government, you could almost forget the government is under mandate to make sure networks incorporate IPv6 — the new internet protocol that gives all sorts of security benefits.
