Ft. Hood suicides on the rise – again

A record-high number of soldiers at Fort Hood are committing suicide. 22 soldiers killed themselves, or are suspected of doing so, in 2010. USA Today reports the Army had boosted staffing and services at Fort Hood to address the problem, especially after the fatal shootings in November of 2009. Fort Hood has one of the largest counseling staffs in the Army with more than 170 behavioral health workers. Fort Hood is the largest Army post. It hosts soldiers to are deploying to and returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, and there was that shooting in 2009.
