They cite policy, budget constraints and the beauty of self-service. For whatever reason, personal retirement counseling sessions are disappearing at many agencies. One result is employees don’t know exactly what is going on. Another is that avoidable errors end up going to the Office of Personnel Management in retirement packages. Tammy Flanagan, senior benefits director at the National Institute of Transition Planning, joined Federal Drive with Tom Temin with an argument for the practice.
