Mr. Robert J. Carey was named the sixth Chief Information Officer for the Department of the Navy by the Secretary of the Navy in November 2006.

As the DON CIO, Mr. Carey is the senior information management and information technology official in the Department and he provides top-level advocacy to the Secretary for the development and use of IM/IT and creation of a unified IM/IT vision for the Navy’s Marine Corps team.
