Have you ever thought about what it takes to build a federal building in another part of the world? That’s the job of the State Department’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO).

OBO has put together a list of Design Excellence Guiding Principles to assist in the construction of federal buildings overseas. The hope is that by following these guidelines, federal buildings will reach new heights of sustainability and functionality.

Lydia Muniz, deputy director of OBO, gave Federal News Radio the details on the new program.
