FERC looks for more power to protect electric grid

FERC\'s expanded authority would protect the grid from both physical and cyber attacks.

The electric grid is currently being protected from cyber attacks by individual states. But that could soon change if the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has it’s way.

FERC’s expanded authority would protect the grid from both physical and cyber attacks. And eliminate vulnerabilities before an attack can happen.

Infosecurity reports FERC would also be charged with protecting sensitive information obtained by the electric grid.
