  • The General Services Administration’s email-as-a-service contract is under protest. Vendors Technosource and True Tandem say GSA’s requirement to have a government-only cloud is a “restrictive specification” and violates federal acquisition rules. GAO will decide the protest by October 17.
  • Your agency has until September 15 to finalize a list of high priority goals for inclusion in your fiscal 2013 budget request. The Office of Management and Budget is leading an effort to set interim governmentwide high priority goals for release in February when the President submits his budget request to Congress. OMB Director Jacob Lew and deputy director for management Jeff Zients say the efforts are because of the GPRA Modernization Act.
  • The number of women and minorities in senior pay levels in the federal government is growing. The Office of Personnel Management says in fiscal 2010, the number of women in Senior Pay levels went up about eight per cent, and the number of minorities in the same levels went up over nine per cent. OPM says the number of women and minorities in professional and administrative jobs went up in 2010 too.
