After abruptly pulling the plug on a procurement plan in February, the Air Force is giving tablet computers another shot. The Air Force Special Operations Command is asking for 2,725 third-generation iPads, or their technological equivalent, for its pilots to use to store digital flight charts. The previous plan was abandoned amid security concerns after the media found ASFSOC planned to use Russian software.
