Today’s interview is with David Rubal, chief technologist for Data & Analytics and principal data scientist at DLT. Rubal is a well-known member of the federal tech community. His technical depth and knowledge of visualization has helped many federal agencies.
He has observed that people look at a technical problem and may not be aware of some of the options that may be available. This is especially true in environments that have so much data that they are termed “data lakes.”
Rubal has an in-depth knowledge of the standard tools as well as the innovative startups. Most surveys show that federal information professionals are not satisfied with the current toolset they have available.
One solution is a “stack” of software solutions that David describes during the interview. This stack is called the DLT Analytics Stack. Kind of like a Swiss army knife, you select the correct tool from the group. The stack includes vendors like Alteryx, AWS, Data Robot, DataStax, Google, Hortonworks, Informatica, Oracle, and Tableau.
Host John Gilroy of The Oakmont Group speaks the language of federal CISOs, CIOs and CTOs, and gets into the specifics for government IT systems integrators. Follow John on Twitter. Subscribe on Apple Podcasts or Podcast One.
