It’s Sunshine Week and the President is calling on agencies to be more open and transparent.

But not every agency is responding the President’s call for transparency – a call that was highlighted in a memorandum signed on President Obama’s first day in office. A new Knight Open Government Survey by the National Security Archive shows only about half of agencies are moving towards the goal of improving responsiveness under the Freedom of Information Act. The survey follows an Associated Press analysis that also found agencies struggling.
