  • The Office of Management and Budget wants to help state and local governments cut improper payments. Four new pilot projects will boost data sharing to help localities identify recipients of improper payments. Projects will cover the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Food and Nutrition Service, unemployment insurance and state collection of federal debt.
  • The U.S. has a familiar friend in cybersecurity. President Obama and U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron say they are working together to help both countries make major steps forward in cybersecurity. They say new joint funding and review of cybersecurity research and development will help them accomplish this.
  • The Defense Information System Agency names Rear Admiral David Simpson as its vice director. Simpson is currently serving as corporate director at the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. Rear Admiral Simpson replaces Major General Ron Hawkins, Jr., as the Vice Director.
