Beth Cobert is on the job as the deputy director for management at the Office of Management and Budget.
The Senate confirmed Cobert and 24 other nominees late Wednesday night.
Cobert comes to OMB after spending her 29-year career as a consultant for McKinsey and Co. She replaces Jeff Zients, who served more than four years as DDM and chief performance officer and resigned May 1. Steve VanRoekel, the federal chief information officer, had been serving as DDM on an interim basis since May.
Cobert received broad support from the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee during her nomination hearing. She said her approach will be to be clear on the objectives that will drive the recommendations toward improvement.
