March 17, 2015 — Today’s interview is with Dolly Oberoi and Bob Tarter from C2 Technologies.
Many federal information professionals are in the position where they have to increase the knowledge of rapidly changing technology. This can be in healthcare IT or cybersecurity. The interview takes a look at the general idea of online education or distance learning.
Dolly Oberoi is the founder of C2 Technologies and was one of the first persons to incorporate learning online. The subsequent explosion of online learning is demonstrated with the rapid growth of systems from organizations as far ranging as Harvard University to Coursera.
Bob Tarter takes the concept of online learning and applies it to the world of aviation. Tarter is uniquely qualified to speak on this topic. He is a retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier General with twenty years’ experience as a pilot for Delta Air Lines.
The topic at hand is training for unmanned aerial vehicles, or what are commonly known as drones. Right now, the whole idea of training for pilots of these vehicles is under consideration.
You may be surprised to learn that Tarter was trained in a virtual environment for flying commercial aircraft. He takes his practical knowledge to show what kind of training is needed for safety of UAVs.
