The Partnership for Public Service recently announced the finalists for the 2016 Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals.
Patricia Dehmer manages the Energy Department’s research labs where many energy innovations are discovered. She has created 32 new labs in her time in this position, as well as raising over $3 billion in investments that facilitate this research.
“Pat has revolutionized the department’s approach to scientific research for energy,” said William Madia, vice president of the Energy Department’s Linear Accelerator Center at California’s Stanford University. “She has delivered major scientific facilities that renewed the national laboratories and will produce discoveries for decades.”
