Successive administrations have tried to push agencies toward greater use of shared services, the idea being they can streamline and save money on common functions. Now a long-time participant in that push says it’s time to think beyond simply moving to a shared service provider source and start thinking about service delivery transformation. Dave Mader, former controller at the Office of Management and Budget, joined Federal Drive with Tom Temin. He is now the civilian chief strategy officer for federal at Deloitte Consulting.
